Tools Programmer

Responsibilities and Duties

• Create new tools, plugins and scripts in industry standard DCCs such as Unreal Engine, Blender, Houdini, Maya, as well as custom tools.
• Work with content creators and other developers to gather requirements and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop usability features and automated helpers to improve and enhance creative workflows
• Optimize and enhance workflows for the team through tools and automation.

Experience and skills required

• Experience building tools.
• Experience with GUI frameworks (QT, IMGUI, Unreal’s Slate or similar).
• Good knowledge of C++, Python and other modern programming languages.
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot issues with tools.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts with other members of the development team.
• Ability to write good user documentation and tutorials.
• Good understanding of version control systems (Perforce).
• Good understanding of how to build responsive tools with a focus on the user experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Games industry experience.
• Experience with Unreal Engine.
• Experience building scripts and plugins for DCCs (Maya, Blender etc).
• Knowledge of Rust is a plus.
• Experience building web based user interfaces is a plus.
